A cute little space with ice cream and fresh (all flavors) butter cookies. Cupcakes and cookies! The icing on the cupcakes were delicious but the actual cupcakes were a bit dry. I LOVED THE BUTTER COOKIES . WOW. Will definitely be back to try the cookies and ice cream.

I never tire of going back and trying something wonderful and new! Every time I go, there's some new treat that's in season and on the menu. I find the owners wonderful to speak with, and so creative. I asked for a cake for my book launch and look at the masterpiece they delivered!

I came across this quant little shop while discovering the hidden treasures of the Distillery district of Toronto. Figuring since I was in the distillery district, after all, I decided to try the Peach Bourbon Ice cream. There were several flavor choices for varying palettes. The ice cream flavor and texture was perfection, and they almost had 5 stars given, but I came across a couple small clear plastic pieces. Assuming they came off from some sort of utensil during churning, I did toss them aside and continue to cautiously eat my ice cream. (Be careful) I had left The Sweet Escape to enjoy my ice cream while walking around the other parts of the Distillery - being on the other side of the area by the time I bit into the tiny pieces in the ice cream. I still recommend anyone to stop by as I'm sure the plastic must've been a rare accident! Also given assurance from the owner that they will double check everything to avoid any future incidents!

I've been going to the Sweet Escape for years so when I was planning my wedding at Archeo, I asked if they did weddings and they do! We got our entire dessert bar from them: cake, cookies, squares, cupcakes, vegan GF cookies. Everything was delicious! Our guests raved about the squares and the cake, and everything tasted so freshly baked. Michelle even decorated the cake and table with flowers which made the dessert bar look even more elegant. My husband and I actually went back to the bakery the following week to buy some more of those cheesecake squares. Thanks again for everything Michelle and team!

I came here for a dessert and tried the brownie, the maple pecan cookie and the poppy seed lemon loaf. All the pastries were soft and flaky. The sweetness was almost perfect - I don't like things overly sweetened. I personally would have liked the brownie even more if it had less or a much softer chocolate glaze on top. It would be even better if the staff would offer to warm the pastry up a bit for dining in. I really enjoyed a regular latte there.There are plenty of seating to enjoy the pastry which is a big plus. However, there is not enough place to park a stroller or maneuver it around or between the tables. The ambiance is quite relaxing and nice to have a conversation with friends. Service was polite but not friendly enough.

Really good coffees and hot drinks!Had the cardamom latte and peppermint hot chocolate.Lots of different treats too! Especially shortbread cookies

Sweet Escapes is a must-try when you’re in the Distillery District. Nuzzled in an unexpectedly vibrant pathway, they offer a huge selection of unique sweets including caramels, marshmallows, bark and sugared jelly. I was so pleased with their sweets, I had them do all the desserts at my wedding! (see pics). Our guests are still raving about them today. Hint – If you’re lucky enough to visit in the summer, get the mango ice cream!

Everything looks good, I had a chocolate cupcake super dry, with vanilla buttercream taste just like pure butter, Nanaimo bar was so dry on the bottom and they couldn’t tell when was made it. They should know when the product was made, staff was nice tho. But disappointed with the bake goods.

A good place that offers variety of pastries and ice cream. This is a go to place whenever we are in the Distillery District. Espresso Brownies and Chocolate ice creams in particular are our favourites!

I like this place, it is a outside of the usual walkway, but the coffee is good and a nice stop if you want to get out off the street for a while.

Stumbled across Sweet Escape on my first trip to the Distillery District and ordered so many delicious treats! I particularly adored the cheesecakes (the portions are great for sharing, if you can bear to part with a single bite). They were sweet, tangy, creamy, and oh so rich. My only complaint is that I live too far away to enjoy Sweet Escape on a regular basis, but I look forward to my next visit!

I still have memories of a custom birthday cake that I ordered from them in 2011. It was bike-themed, for my colleague who's into cycling. It was beautiful and delicious. I posted a photo of the cake to my former colleague's Facebook wall on his birthday two years ago, and he responded, "Possibly the best birthday cake I ever had." The ice cream that The Sweet Escape makes is terrific, as are their baked goods. I rarely get to The Distillery District, but if I lived nearby, I'd be at The Sweet Escape all the time.

We got the egg&cheese on a bun and it was pretty good. However, ask them to leave it in the toaster for a few more seconds so that it gets warm all the way.

Pretty ok coffee and baked goods. I liked what I ordered, but it was nothing special. Kind of exactly what you'd expect from a bakery inside a shopping center. The wait time in line was a bit long, even though there were 3+ staff members behind the counter and only a couple people in line. They were in no hurry to help those in line. Still, when it was finally my turn to order, they were friendly.

Ordered a chocolate cheesecake for our son's birthday and it was heavenly. The bakery used dark chocolate and it was amazing . We will definitely order from this bakery again. Thanks Michelle

This nice cozy and cute looking shop serves amazing coffee. They have a nice array of pastries and cookies as well. Not really a quiet place as the seating arrangement is in a common area but definitely you can chill there for a bit. Would definitely recommend it.

The desserts had fun presentation, and there was plenty of seating.
